Why I work at Cross Road: I moved to Glennallen because I fell in love with the people, community and the great outdoors. I spent nearly my whole summer of 09 down in this area. Fishing, traveling, staking property, fishing some more, working. I was very fortunate when I inquired that CRMC had a position open for a family nurse practitioner. I look forward to working here for many years and building a small cabin on our property out by Lake Louise.

Why I work at Cross Road: It is important to me to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of my patients as I strive to apply the purpose statement and core values of CRMC. I serve at North Country Clinic & in the village clinics of Chistochina and Mentasta to promote a higher level of health in these rural areas.

Dr. Donald G. Hudson, D.O., Medical Director Degree(s): Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
Role: Dr. Hudson is on contract with Cross Road as a consultant and oversees quality assurance within our Medical Department. He conducts quarterly reviews of our providers and reports to the CEO and COO. He is also responsible for reviewing and approving Medical and Nursing Department policies and procedures.
Joel R. Medendorp, PhD, MBA, Chief Executive Officer Role: Joel directs the overall operation of the facility’s activities in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations, to assure that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times. Joel is also responsible for the planning, organization and controlling of all areas of financial administration of the Medical Center.

Why I work at Cross Road:

Susan Sura, Chief Operating Officer, Privacy Officer Role: Susan is a senior manager who oversees the day to day operations of Cross Road. She directly oversees several departments and works with other managers to ensure the continuity and quality of the health care we provide. Along with the CEO, Susan manages the Medical Department staff.

Christmas 2009

May 2010: The staff and students of grades 2-5 from Copper Center Elementary School presented Cross Road with a generous donation of toys and games.


July 4, 2010: Davanea and Susan leading the new Cross Road Mobile Health Unit in the 2010 Independence Day parade in Glennallen
