Please Pray With and For Us:

Updated: November 2016
  • Praise for the generosity of many over this past year in helping us provide for needs!

  • Pray for needed staff members-nurses (CRMC and IAMC sites) and a second provider for Delta.

  • Praise for Dede’s steady recovery and her ability to continue to meet the needs of her patients at NCC.

  • Pray for attitudes of thanksgiving on a daily basis for us all. Pray that we will not grow weary in serving our communities with God’s love through healthcare!

CEO Notes:

WINTER 2016: Cross Road Health Ministries is so thankful for all the support of our communities and supporters! Meeting the needs of a small population group covering land area about the size of Illinois keeps us challenged and we are very thankful to have your prayers and support as we continue. Here are some updates on the clinics.

The Interior Alaska Medical Clinic in Delta Junction has had a steady year and took on adding after-hours urgent care this year. While the Delta area has the support of a paramedic grade ambulance staff who is able to transport patients to Fairbanks, it was felt to be a needed service. We continue to try and find an additional full-time provider to help bear the load and meet community needs and are looking at ways to make urgent care coverage more feasible for staff while still meeting community needs.

We are excited to have just hired a pharmacist for the pharmacy in Delta that we hope to have open in the near future. Pharmacist Lonnie Owens is currently living in Alaska, so should transition easily. We’ll plan to do an open house early next year after the pharmacy opens. We look forward to meeting this community need.

For years, Cross Road Medical Center has had several buildings on land owned by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). In October, SEND North in Anchorage, the original ministry that started CRMC, KCAM, and ABC was able to purchase the land from BLM. (How’s that for a mouthful of acronyms?). As soon as the land is re-surveyed for the breakout of the land between the entities, Cross Road Health Ministries will be able to buy the land from SEND. We anticipate the date of purchase to be near year’s end. Our portion of the land will be just over $100,000 plus costs (appraisal, survey…). We appreciate those who have been sending in donations to help with this large purchase.

North Country Clinic continues to meet needs in the Grizzly Lake area. Dede Duntze, NP, has been recovering from an injury. We and her patients are thankful to have her back. This summer, NCC’s cabin will be renovated or replaced. Pray for wisdom in that decision.

May we retain a heart of thankfulness in all circumstances! (I Thes. 5:18)
